After Breakfast, Delhi sight seeing of
Jama Masjit, Red fort, Gandhi Memorial Garden and Lotus

Morning after breakfast, drive to Agra
($ Hours) to visit the Taj Mahal and Fatepur Sikri. Over
night in AGRA. |

AGRA :
The Taj Mahal is an enduring monument to love, with
continually fulfilling beauty. Shah Jahan (1618 A.D
1666 A.D), fifth of the Great Mughals, was devoted to
his wife Mumtaz, though he still insisted that she travel
with him in all states of health. She died at the age
of 39, giving birth to her fourteenth child. On her
deathbed, it is said that she asked him to show the
world how much they loved one another. It is also said
that his hair went grey almost overnight, that he went
into mourning for 2 years and lived a very simple life.

BODHGAYA:
Nestling on the banks of the river Phalgu, the holy
city of Bodh Gaya is dominated by the elegant spire
of the Mahabodhi Temple. At the rear of the temple is
the cynosure of every Buddhist pilgrim, the Bodhi tree
- an offspring of the original tree were the Buddha
attained enlightenment. Chaukaramana the raised platform
marks the place where the Buddha paced in meditation.
Numerous monasteries, temples and shrines founded by
different Buddhist nations make a compelling sight .
Bodh Gaya has the most important pilgrimage sites of
international Buddhism. These includes the Gelukpa Tibetan
temple, Karmapa Tibetan temple, Japanese Daijokyo temple,
Thai temple and Indonesian Nipponji temple etc.

After an early morning breakfast drives
to visit Rajgir and Nalanda. Evening drive back to Bodhgaya
for over night stay. |

NALANDA:
11 Kms from Rajgir, its sprawling excavations tell the
story of a once flourishing Buddhist University. Established
in the fifth century B.C, it consisted of 300 apartments
and eight monastic buildings. Some as many as 6 stories
high. One capped with an 80 feet high copper image of
Buddha. Facts, testified by two of Nalandas celebrated
students the Chinese pilgrims Hieun Tsang and I. Tsang. |

Drive to varanasi in the morning. Reach
Varanasi in the evening Overnight at Varanasi Hotel Pallavi
International. |

8 |
Early morning before breakfast we go
to the Varanasi Ganga Ghat (Banks of the river Ganges)
to watch the sun rise and holy bath taken by the Hindu
people. Back to hotel for break fast. Afternoon go to
visit the Varanasi old town and some Hindu temples. Overnight
at hotel. |

After break fast Sight seeing of Sarnath.

THE RIVER
FONT:
The hundred and more Ghats on the river are the main
attraction for visitors to Varanasi. Visit them at first
light before sunrise, 0600 hrs in winter when Hindu
pilgrims come to bathe in the sacred Ganga, facing the
rising sun, or at dusk when leaf-boat lamps are floated
down the river. You will see more on the spot. |

SARNATH:
10 kms from Varanasi main town, Sarnath is the ancient
pilgrimage for Buddhists where the Buddha preached his
first sermon. The spot is today marked by the majestic
Stupa. The nearby Choukhandi Stupa is said to mark the
place where the Buddha met his 5 disciples.
The Sarnath museum is the home to some of the finest
ancient Buddhist sculptural arts. Other attractions
include the celebrated Ashoka Pillar and the Mulgandha
Kuti Vihara built by the Mahabodhi Society.Drive to

KUSHINAGAR:
Set against a pastoral landscape, the small hamlet of
Kushinagar is revered as the site of the Buddhas Mahaparinirvana.
The Nirvana Stupa dating back to the early part of the
fifth century A.D. was extensively rebuilt by Burmese
Buddhists in 1927. Within the accompanying shrine is
a large guilded reclining image of the Buddha. About
1.5 kms south-east of the main site, the crumbling bricks
of the Ramabhar Stupa are said to be the original Mukutabandhana
Stupa erected to mark the spot of the Buddhas cremation.
Today, Kushinagar is home to many modern monasteries
and temples.

Kushinagar to Lunbini drive. Morning
visit the sites of Kushinagar and later drive to Siddhartha
Nagar at Nepal border. And check on to hotel for over
night. |

LUMBINI:
Lumbini is the birth place of Buddha. Situated on the
foothills of the mighty Himalayas, it is near Kapilavastu,
the Capital of Shakya clan. Immediately after his birth,
the prince is said to have took seven steps in each
direction with a lotus blossoming to every step. |
| DAY 12 |
Morning drive to visit the Birth Place
of Lord Buddha at Lumbini and also the Tibetan temples
at Lumbini. We then drive to Kathmandu. |
| DAY 13 |
Drive to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu
in the evening. Over night in hotel at Thamel. |

Sight seeing of Kathmandu. Overnight
at Kathmandu. |
